Are you often asked about aquatic weeds and how to control them? Do you frequently receive questions about managing fish ponds? This workshop is designed for NC State Extension agents and other Extension staff who advise the public on controlling aquatic vegetation, maintaining healthy fish populations, and keeping ponds in good condition. Gain the latest knowledge and resources to effectively assist your clients with their aquatic weed control and other pond management needs. Lunch included.

You’ll find this workshop useful if you’ve ever been asked questions like:

• How do I manage or prevent unwanted aquatic vegetation?
• What are safe and effective ways to apply aquatic herbicides?
• Which plants are best to establish around my pond for stability and habitat?
• Can I identify the difference between invasive and beneficial aquatic plants?
• Do I have the right types, sizes, and numbers of fish to keep my pond balanced?
• Are my fish populations healthy, and how do I recognize signs of disease?

• FEE: $15 per participant
• There are only 24 in-person spots - first-come first-serve. Any in-person registrations after 24 will need to attend via Zoom.
• Ages: 18+ and recommended for Extension personnel, pond professionals, natural resource managers, and others who provide technical guidance on pond management.

  • Please bring any aquatic plant specimens you would like to identify during the workshop. A notepad and writing utensil is also recommended for taking notes.
